Woodwind

Dart, a hummingbird

Whereas your love

Flutters away the stars above

Or abuzz neither here nor there

As made love erratic

So blurry as to appear quite static

Slick like Jehuty’s beak

Plays incognito

Subtly dominating like a mosquito

Tries with infinite hands to ring

Empty forests around my heart

Only felling instead what had pricked us to start

Now nestled in splinters on the breeze

A plumage of oranges with turquoise

Transvalued not so much from choice

As in freely surrendering

To unconditional liberty

We blent with that fatal brush into eternity.
